A Second Look at Leary’s Eight-Circuit Model: Gurdjieff’s Law of Octaves and the Tarot P.D. Newman Along with Ram Dass, Huston Smith, and Andrew Weil, Timothy Leary was part of what has been called “the Harvard Psychedelic Club.” Fired from his position at Harvard University for failing to attend scheduled class lectures, Leary is perhaps best known as being one of the most vocal advocates of lysergic acid diethylamide (better known as LSD-25), an extremely powerful hallucinogenic drug which Leary et alii helped to popularize during the revolutionary sixties. He was also part of the Harvard Psilocybin Project, which Leary organized following a trip to Mexico during which he was administered psilocybin mushrooms. He later recalled of this experience that he had: learned more about [his] brain and its possibilities [and] more about psychology in the five hours after taking these mushrooms than…in the preceding fifteen years of studying and doing research in psychology. The Harvard Psilocybin Project went on to conduct the famous Concord Prison Experiment, which evaluated whether psilocybin paired with psychotherapy could successfully rehabilitate repeat offenders, and the Marsh Chapel Experiment, which sought to discover if psilocybin could reliably induce mystical experiences in religiously predisposed theology students. In 1963, Leary helped initiate the Millbrook Experiment, an enormous mansion located in New York where residents spent their days experimenting with psychedelic drugs and living according to the teachings of Armenian mystic, G.I. Gurdjieff. To Gurdjieff, we’ll return below. These experiments, impressive and novel as they were, are not the good doctor’s sole claims to fame, however. During one of his many incarcerations, in 1972, Dr. Leary developed a new theoretical model of the evolution of life on earth—and of individual human consciousness—which he called the ‘Eight Brain’ or ‘Eight Circuit’ model. Popularized by Discordian Pope, Robert Anton Wilson, Leary’s Eight Circuit model postulates that all life on earth (and indeed in the entire cosmos) evolves through a series of eight successive ‘circuits.’ This same eight-fold process, Leary adds, is recapitulated in the development of consciousness within an individual human being. Just as the human embryo at various times manifests as unicellular, possessed of gills, having a tail, etc., so too does individual conscious unfold through the same successive stages of evolution. Divided into Terrestrial and Post-Terrestrial phases, Leary’s eight ‘circuits’ unfold as follows: Terrestrial: 1. The Bio-Survival (Marine Consciousness) Circuit 2. The Emotion-Locomotion Terrestrial-Mammalian (Territorial Consciousness) Circuit 3. The Symbolic-Artifactual (Laryngeal-Muscular Consciousness) Circuit 4. The Industrial (Socio-Sexual Consciousness) Circuit Post-Terrestrial 5. The Cyber-Somatic (Body Consciousness) Circuit 6. The Cyber-Electronic (Brain Consciousness) Circuit 7. The Cyber-Genetic (DNA Consciousness) Circuit 8. The Cyber-Atomic (Quantum Consciousness) Circuit Without entering into too much detail regarding the function of these ‘Brains,’ it is sufficient to say that each of the eight ‘circuits’ are further divided into three successive stages (thus giving us twenty-four) of what Leary calls “con-telligence.” Con–telligence is defined as “the reception (consciousness), integration, and transmission of energy signals.” The three stages of con–telligence applied to each of the unfolding circuits then constitute the twenty-four phases of the awareness, mastery, and communication-fusion of each new evolutionary technology—from spineless, floating amoeboid (as well as newborn infant) to meta-physiological nano-technician at the “violet hole” found at the center of our Milky Way galaxy. The people who represent these various stages of evolution Leary refers to as ‘castes.’ In an attempt to “relate the psychology of the ancient, pre-scientific world with modern notions of stages [and] phases,” Leary was wont to apply his twenty-four periods of evolution to the Major Arcana of the Tarot, wherein he perceived a clear reflection of his own model. For example, to illustrate the three-stage ‘con-telligence’ of Circuit I, Leary employed The Fool, The Magician, and The Empress cards. In illustration of the con-telligence of Circuit II, he used The High Priestess, The Emperor, and the Hierophant, etc. However, there’s just one problem with this arrangement. The Major Arcana are possessed of only twenty-two cards, leading Leary, to the horror of every Tarot purist in the world, to invent two brand new Major Arcana cards: Starmaker and Violet Whole. As hip and groovy as these two additions no doubt are, they may not have been necessary. Had Leary paid closer attention to his Gurdjieff while residing at Millbrook—or to the Ouspensky title (In Search of the Miraculous) that Charlie Manson slipped him while in solitary confinement at Folsom Prison—he might have thought to apply the sequence of Tarot’s Major Arcana cards to Gurdjieff’s Heptaparaparshinokh, aka his Law of Octaves.
According to the Law of Octaves, everything in the universe that happens or can happen manifests according to a fixed set of cyclic vibrations, called octaves. From the initial impulse of a given thing to that thing’s final completion, this constitutes an octave; that is, from do (start) to do (finish) in the Ionian mode (do re mi fa sol la ti do) constitutes a given octave. Whether it is the birth and death of a galaxy or the beginning and end of an acid trip, taken as a unit, each of these phenomena would constitute its own octave. Considered in the key of C major (which Gurdjieff obviously intends), it becomes evident that a given octave is possessed not only of eight steps, but also of two intervals. For, every note in the C major scale is followed by a sharp—save two: mi and ti. Unlike the other six tones, mi and ti, rather than being followed by semitones, move directly into the following whole notes. To compensate for these ‘intervals,’ in order to complete a given octave, Gurdjieff postulates that two “additional shocks” are required. P.D. Ouspensky, an early student of Gurdjieff, writes: In an ascending octave the first ‘interval’ comes between mi and fa. If corresponding additional energy enters at this point the octave will develop without hindrance to [ti], but between [ti] and do it needs a much stronger ‘additional shock’ for its right development than between mi and fa, because the vibrations of the octave at this point are of a considerably higher pitch and to overcome a check in the development of the octave a greater intensity is needed. It is our understanding that an ‘additional shock’ in an ascending (evolutionary) octave may be constituted by anything from a physical or emotional trauma, a mental break with mundane reality, a mystical initiation, a ritual working, or even by a psychedelic experience. It is the application of ‘super effort’ at two points in an ‘octave’ that will aid in bringing its process to completion.
Possessed of eight steps and two ‘intervals,’ Gurdjieff’s Law of Octaves neatly solves the problem of what Leary saw as two ‘missing cards.’ If we allot the cards of the Major Arcana in sets of three to Leary’s eight ‘circuits’ while keeping true to Gurdjieff’s Law of Octaves, we arrive at the arrangement below. Let the Arabic numerals indicate Leary’s Eight Circuit model. Let the Roman numerals represent those attributed to the Major Arcana cards. Let the asterisks represent Gurdjieff’s ‘additional shocks.’
1. 0 – I – II (do)
III – IV – V (re)
VI – VII – * (mi)
VIII – IX – X (fa)
XI – XII – XIII (sol)
XIV – XV – XVI (la)
XVII – XVIII – * (ti)
XIX – XX – XXI (do) As the reader may observe, these ‘shocks’ fall into the ‘transmission’ (per his theory of ‘con-telligence’) slots of Leary’s third (Symbolic-Artifactual) and seventh (Cyber-Genetic) circuits, precisely in the places where the ‘additional shocks’ are necessitated, per Gurdjieff’s Law of Octaves—no invention of cards required. The suggestion here is that ‘additional shocks’ serve as bridges for the transmission gaps between a) the integration phase of the Symbolic-Artifactual Circuit and the reception phase of the Industrial Circuit and b) the integration phase of the Cyber-Genetic Circuit and the reception phase of the Cyber-Atomic Circuit—thus providing the individual (and the species) with the momentum necessary to break the barriers between one evolutionary circuit and the next. In the Tarot, these ‘shocks’ appear between a) The Chariot and Strength and b) The Moon and The Sun cards. In the system popularized by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, The Chariot corresponds to the zodiac sign Cancer. Strength, on the other hand, corresponds to Leo. Conveniently, as Cancer is ruled by the moon and Leo is ruled by the sun, combined with the second ‘additional shock’ which occurs between The Moon and The Sun Cards, we see that both the ‘shocks’ take place at ‘intervals’ between symbolic diametrical moon-sun relationships. These ‘shocks,’ then, both practically and symbolically, serve the same ‘bridging’ function of a mercurial mediator between alchemical opposites. Coincidence? Perhaps. Granted, we may be guilty of ‘confusing the planes’ by comparing the zodiacal attributions of one pair of cards to the titles of another. However, one cannot deny the symmetrical neatness of the structure. For this arrangement to work, it goes without saying that all the cards and explanations following The Chariot in Leary’s model must be rearranged and reworked to accommodate for Gurdjieff’s ‘shocks.’ And, in fact, in Info-Psychology, his 1987 revision of Exo-Psychology, Leary kindly invited the reader “to engage in an ‘interactive co-writing’ of these important issues.” That’s all we’re really doing here. In any event, at the very least, we’ve arrived at what would appear to be a totally novel mode of Tarot analysis. The notion that hidden ‘additional shocks’ appear in the major arcana sequence between cards VII and VIII and between cards XVIII and XIX is, to our knowledge, unprecedented. But, does this innovation mean that two of Leary’s ‘castes’ must be sacrificed in favor these ‘shocks?’ Or, is the implication that two of Leary’s ‘castes’ are the ‘shocks?’ Further analysis is required to know. One thing we can say with certainty, however—and that, along with Leary’s friend, Dr. Israel Regardie of the Golden Dawn—is that “posterity […] will have a finer appreciation of what [Dr. Timothy Leary] has contributed to the world than we have today.” WORKS CITED Alpert, William. An atypical course… Manitoba by its artist name lives and works in Biganos on the Arcachon basin. French international artist born in 1966 in Algéria, self taught psychedelic and visionary artist, began his career at 48 years old , he took a 180-degree turn and left his job as a chemist to devote himself to his revelation, painting. This total questioning allowed him to express his great freedom as an artist.
An Eye on Emptiness
In the heart of the moment,
where time unravels,
At the heart of oneself, where no one
Others can go, build
Where to rebuild from nothing
What completes us
To just have to be
Fill this emptiness
Who fills the gaps
As long as we dare to share
Without hesitation without shading
As beautiful nature made us
In the blood fire
From our boiler
To happiness that fills us
The heart, like the child, the bird
Who paws and whistles the curious
Impatience of in body
To be surprised to be...
And drill
The mystery,
There where
transparent
The silence
Of between
The
Words...
To the life
In love

To the heliotrope thought
As we turn
Towards the star of light

Societal, for its petals
Get out of the futile, the straightjacket
Of what will you say
and leave the flower in the beak

In and around you.

His art transmits passion and thirst for life, inspired by an original movement in the spirit of an ancestral memory, close to the primary arts. The artist invites us to the source, of all these lives around us and this natural song of hope that grows beyond borders and other forms of conditioning. A little shamanic, he invites us into the silence between the words, as if out of time, for a moment …
Mycelial Visions is a work that I have been maturing for months and that deals with the wonders and mysteries that the Fungi Kingdom contains, a name that is used to designate a group of eukaryotic organisms where fungi or mushrooms, molds and yeasts are found. This kingdom is one of the 5 great ones that make up others, such as animalia, plantae, protista or monera, having very own characteristics that distinguish it from these others due to its taxonomy and complex life cycles.
Specifically, the so-called mushrooms of the Psilocybe family caught my attention and their role as sacred psychotropics (hallucinogenic or neurotropic) in vast cultures, with records of this use, from the Paleolithic (Siberia, Sahara and Spain) to the present day. The power that these have to expand the mind and open unsuspected portals is well known, and that it has a certain analogy with what Eliphas Levi explained, regarding the 3 states to know the secrets of the universe, such as the embryonic state, dreams and delirium.
Thus, since the dawn of animism, these mushrooms have revealed, with the guidance of healers and shamans, that which is invisible and also ineffable, since those who experience these trips cannot express or relate what they have experienced on these trips to what is supposedly the depth of being and soul. These mushrooms usually occur in the dung of animals and it is plausible that prehistoric nomads followed herds not only for their meat but also to collect these mushrooms that were found growing in the feces of the herds. Among these mushrooms are the Psilocybe Mairei in North Africa, Psilocybe Cyanescens, present in Europe, America and Oceania, or Psilocybe Zapotecorum in Mesoamerica, to name three of the most recognized.
They are heterotrophic organisms, that is, they acquire their nutrients from abroad. Their form of reproduction is by spores and they have specific anatomical structures for their production, such as asci (contain ascospores) and basidia (with basidiospores). In fungi, reproduction can be asexual (without formation of a fruiting body) as well as sexual. Like the other kingdoms, they have different shapes, colors and sizes. Its habitat and location varies according to species, being able to grow in treetops or at the foot of it, as well as on rocks or soil, preferably where there is humidity and shade.

FULLNESS A secret freedom opens through a crack that you can barely see. Rumi The morning and its ancient mystery with his new cycle embracing my vertebral calm with dawn light steep in aerial stays of a non-Euclidean flight and its fertile messaging that awakens the annelids to caress my future memory.
CONCILIATION There are times when all the accumulated anxiety and effort they rest in the infinite indolence and repose of nature. Henry David Thoreau I have heard the incessant whisper of the maitenes and felt its impetuous root that sings its light music mounted on the invisible verticality of design that escapes geometrically by the high pendulum cusp where I found the voice of the origin so I became a body in the bark adding myself to the essential channel that pulsates in the hollow where the bird flies with his outburst of winged love that awakens the astral eyelid and light the new dawn.
DOWN From the labyrinth of white meats where the filaments fractionate the divine eye the wise thread emerges from the molten magma before time.
DREAMS in the belly of the stone the dragon’s breath is hidden and in every cosmic cycle stir your energy that moves the suns and their destinies. You’ll know when the word goes on in that object that radiates silent voices by a demiurge who lost love in a vortex in that surprising weather.
HUGGING THE BELLY Diverse waters nest in the hidden embryonic embraces where the blade of time pick up the promise made to the stem in that sacred way. And I saw a new way and their metals hugged tightly the sign of the night dropping urgent shadows as field dams one upright and down in his immobility.
LIGHT The universe came down to my domain Opening the lights before precarious those who entered In the bones of my soul. Light of the hidden.
SEEING EYE the flesh of god opened the sky and my inner eye saw the route of the serpents.
HEAVENLY LANDSCAPES In the surroundings of the uranic gem the voices of the magicians are raised that bear ancestral flowers to heal the wounds of oblivion.
REVELATION There was his high imponderable crown on the distinguished and lukewarm verticality of the mystery without leaving a shadow in the mirror of the high magistracy of the verb pouring her violet love towards his moist horizon and restlessly embracing your silhouette that I don’t know That’s how I saw you behind the meanders of destiny in the sudden revelation of the morning birds Will you be the trail to be followed in unknown times? perhaps I will drink of your honey under the sign of the equinox coming As soon as you feel your eyelids full of the light of your redemption and rest the incandescent pearl that comes down from the dew this will be the floral beginning of the silent explosion like the one that leaves the pollen in the aerial possibilities while I await your coming. Someday they’ll die out under the rust the gears that bind us to reality.
DIRECTIONS My constellations that guide me pushing my mild matter in this immense sum of fiery spheres and finite inside the womb of mystery with its unsuspected breath of flowers because as above so below since nebulae have their own pistils and here I am with my steps apprehended waved and sacramented right and wrong taking up the path dictated by the stars smiling under high serene clouds looking for other paths that will bring a new hand to dream.
How do you put yourself into a trance or into a place that’s receptive to the subconsciousness?
I find the act of drawing in itself to be trance inducing. I first became obsessed with automatic drawing in high school because it felt like it would light up my brain and smooth out all of my anxious energy. It would literally feel like I was drawing my way out of a stupor and waking up to the strangeness of my own mind.
Drawing helps me reach that valuable state where I can feel awake and alert, yet simultaneously relaxed. I find that my breathing slows down when I’m drawing and time feels more fluid. It helps to have a quiet studio where I can go and disappear for hours at a time. I think of the imagination as a living thing that I have an ever evolving relationship with. If I meet it halfway and submerse myself in the creative process, I get to interact with and explore the subconscious and come back with artistic documentation.
What interests inform and inspire you?
So many things. I love outsider, folk, visionary, and ancient art. Whenever art is made from an inner need or impulse, I find it extremely valuable. I love children’s art. I have 2 kids and love watching the way their minds work. I love creative collaboration as a way to relate to another person’s mind and bring out something totally unexpected and new.
I’m interested in neuroscience and new scientific thought around the so called Hard Problem of Consciousness and Theories of Everything. I love to read. Especially speculative fiction, strange fiction, and comics. I’m hugely inspired by nature and spend a lot of time in the woods. Learning some carpentry skills is another thing that’s been opening me up to new art possibilities. Just sitting and trying to clearly see images or hear music in my head is an ongoing practice.
What role do you think the artist has in the 21st century?
The best thing an artist can do is follow their own unique impulse. Artists need to push back against the bizarre human drive to homogenize everything. They need to reach beyond the inadequate systems we live inside.
I think diversity of culture and human expression is the most valuable thing we can cultivate as a species. I also think it’s important for artists to have an anti-cruelty stance. There’s so much cruelty in our history and baked into our systems. I think the artist’s role is to look unflinchingly at this and attempt to untie those knots. Art can be part of the antidote to the bad ideas that seem to cling to our brains and stunt our evolution.
Have you experienced Lucid Dreaming or any kind of encounter with cosmic consciousness?
Yes, I’ve had quite a few experiences that have felt outside of normal cognitive experience. Each of these experiences feel incredibly valuable to me and I’m thankful for them. Mostly I’ve regretted it whenever I’ve tried to describe them to people. They feel like something to internalize and hold close. It’s easy to discount things that don’t fit with the narrative of the everyday, so I try to think about those experiences a lot and not let them fade into doubt.
When did you create or discover your own archetypical patterns?
I started with automatic drawing, just letting my hand draw without knowing where it would go. Through that, a lot of patterns and imagery naturally began to emerge and I would just kind of follow that. Through years of working in this way and contemplating the recurring symbols, a lot of ideas and feelings started taking shape. Making comics became a way to explore that more actively by trying to unlock the stories and concepts that my drawings were revealing to me.
Has your work ever lead you to an experience of intuition or synchronicity?
Following an artistic impulse is in itself an intuitive and synchronistic experience. It adds an extra dimension to my daily life and when I have positive momentum in my work, I feel like that crosses over into my daily life and helps me see connections and meaning. Putting my work out into the world has also allowed me to meet a lot of people I wouldn’t have met otherwise, so in that way, I feel like dedicating myself to making art has allowed me to have important friendships that have inspired and helped me grow.
What do you like to cook?
I love cooking. I cook almost every night. I like to make enchiladas with sauce made from scratch. I like making sushi, jambalaya, grilled pizza, salmon. It’s just fun to work a kitchen and try to be efficient with all the different elements in play and it’s satisfying to serve up something good to my family. Cleaning up the kitchen afterwards is not as fun.

Guardian Angels Avatars. 80×60 centimeters. Acrylic on canvas. 2021
In this Visionary artwork, we can see below that the shamans in the ceremony are curing a man suffering from a mental illness caused by an imbalance in his pituitary gland and hypothalamus. The shaman kneeling next to him performs puffs (blowing mapacho smoke) to extract the disturbing energies that are emerging. The sumiruna master who is standing is levitating and from his feet radiate luminous electromagnetic vibrations that neutralize the dissonant energies in the patient’s brain and restore his mental well-being. Next to theSumiruna we see a snake with the spiral patterns that biological cells form. All cells have a nucleus that contains the double-stranded DNA molecule. Similarly, growing in a spiral is the ayahuasca vine that we see in the central part of the work, which emanates from the eternal spirit for our spiritual awakening. Within the oracle are winged celestial beings known as the “holy virtues”. They maintain the physical order of the universe so that the movements of the planets, stars, and galaxies are governed by divinely ordained laws of motion. The patiquina plant you see is used as protection against sorcery or witchcraft and acts as a shield. The eyes of the jaguar that we see at the top is the Arkana that the Sumiruna placed as protection for the healing ceremony, so that no enemy can enter it. Finally we see the avatar angels at both ends, they transmit spiritual energy to the plants so that the shaman masters can see in their visions the angelic powers in action.
Connection of Bodies 80×60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2022
In this visionary work of art we see how the connection of the bodies by Spiritual way makes them obtain knowledge of the visions. When the dizziness begins to take effect, they meditate in solitude with the spirits of animals, gnomes, sylphs and sibyls, as we see around this work of art. Later, while they sleep, they receive the icaros of each animal, Garza Real, jaguar, dolphin and eagle. On the left we see that there is the sovereign sage known as a’tun mauca runa, “the great ancients” he is the bearer of harmony. They watch over the women who ascend to the heavenly temples to worship. They are the guardians of space, time, stars and galaxies, and they bring unity. On the right side of the work we see a spiritual woman named Caspi Maman. She will show you that the jungle consists of a multitude of levels that start underground, go through the forest floor, and climb up to the treetops. She will gradually reveal herself as a source of immense knowledge of plants and spirits. Finally we see that she radiates the light of the Sun. The Sun symbolizes above all the source of light that allows life. It thus provides vital energy, heat and allows all organisms to grow and manifest themselves. With its magnetic power it influences the orbit of the planets, giving them movement, meaning and direction.
Banco-Sumi Master 1.00 x 1.35 Meters Oil on canvas 2020
In this visionary work, on the right side you see a Bank-Sumi Master, a great shaman master and man of esoteric knowledge who can transform his physical body into pure spirit. He wears a robe of fire. To earn this honor you must rigorously follow a diet to learn from sublime masters and win allied spirits: Yanapuma or black jaguar, bears, owls, jaguar, pink dolphins and the Eelmama (mother of the Brava Cocha, which is a wild and mystical lake where few people dare to venture). He sings blanket Payariri, a reserved Icarus. He says “Manti payariri, ninangu-nacaya“, which means “Mantle of fire, strong as my medicine”. The magnificent pink dolphins (sublime spirits of the water) form a vault around the Bank-Sumi, whose electromagnetic auras sustain life; the air, the storm and the wind dominate. This is also an Inca vision, with those who drink ayahuasca dressed like the Incas, we can see an Inca couple on the right side of the work. The man is called Yacoshun-go, and the woman Nukno-pachac, “sweet land.” They come from a city called Great Saara, which was submerged thousands of years ago. In the central part of the work we can see the Mother of the Chacuna. The chacruna induces colorful visions, while the ayahuasca liana promotes understanding. If you drink pure ayahuasca – the liana without chacruna, maybe a little mapacho tobacco – your visions are only in black and white. Below we see the jaguar with energy that is being guided by the mother chacruna, this feline is magical and full of esoteric powers. This feline transforms into the king of the spirit world. On the left side, a shaman is seen surrounded by elemental fire, who teaches the esoteric mysteries of charms. And the eyes that emanate above his head allow him to look through them at the spaces of the grid and see other worlds. We also see electric eels, which vegetalistas invoke because the electromagnetic waves of this animal sensitize them to perceive pulsations in their patients.
Inca Knowledge 80×60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work of art we can see a master Inca shaman. In Inca times this Master was a skillful healer with a great knowledge of medicinal plants. He could also travel to other galaxies and dimensions that is why we see planets in this vision. To absorb the feline wisdom, this Master Healer slept with the felines that we see on the upper right side of the work. These felines are mysterious creatures with a lot of wisdom and knowledge of plants. This close contact with the felines creates a telepathic communion. Incan Master healers like the one seen here were once highly honored as princes and wore gold crowns encrusted with precious stones and brightly colored feathers. Among his allies are birds, such as the eagle that we see in the upper central part of the work. The eagle makes loud and strident calls to warn if someone is approaching and if they have good intentions. At the top right is a woman wearing a gold crown with earrings (pendants). She is a spiritual teacher of the mysterious Chachapoyas (cloud people) who were never completely subjugated by the Incas. Below her is seen her magnificent city with immense walls, splendid palaces and huacas (shrines) shrouded in secrets and mysteries. Beneath the Inca master, an ayahuasca vine grows and the galaxy indicates that the sacred vine is the sacred gate to these esoteric realms. We also see two protective snakes, whose heads are different since they provide superlative abilities of observation and listening to warn of enemies.
Muraya 80 x 60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this Visionary work of art we see two nymphs on the left and a Xilánster nymph on the right, who heal with perfumes and aromas, and teach self-hypnosis and meditation to maintain a healthy mental and emotional state to the Muraya that we see in the upper central part… These nymphs know the secret location of the black rose, a mysterious flower used for divination and hypnosis. In the upper left part are the floripondium flower (Brugmansia suaveolens), the floripondium is the one that processes the spiral waves and serpentine light patterns to the nymphs and represents the power of this plant to expand and illuminate the unconscious mind. In the upper central part we see the shaman who is meditating and receiving teachings from the nymphs, here they teach the muraya the art of clairvoyance and spiritual perception, seen as luminescent green spirals around below the Ashaninka muraya. The constant protectors of the ayahuasca ceremonies that are the jaguar and the owl, one of the qualities of the jaguar is to be aware of the movement of the earth and that makes any enemy inactive. And the qualities of the owl have a type of vision that is perfectly adapted to the dark. They are also known as Arkanos. Below her we see that the winged elemental spirits are arriving, these are napeae and camenae singing and orchestrating the mystical framework of the ceremony. These spirits bring perfumes and balms to prepare and protect Master Muraya. The jaguar that we see on her, emits arkanas with the colors of the rainbow that surround the teacher Muraya and deflect any sorcery. The shaman teacher is also learning from the jaguar that we see to the right of her, how to hypnotize the enemies that want to attack her. At the top of the work we can see the golden temple of ayahuasca, in this temple they teach about the upbringing and care of children. In the temple they teach you to nurture your home and your family, you learn to take care of the structure of your home. In the purple temple called the palace of the punga is where the shamans are taught the mysteries of the mariri and the breath. The helical shape of the ayahuasca vine indicates that it can reveal the DNA of living beings and embody their vibrations and icaros. Their crown, decorated with red and green plants, gives them protection when they drink ayahuasca. His apprentices of palistic alchemy who specialize in sticks can master them only after several years of strict diet aided by these dryads. The radiating waves of colors illustrate the healing energy of the fiber, which aids the shaman. The hummingbirds and butterflies that we see in this visionary work are messengers that warn the Sumiruna Inca masters of dangers. Divine Muse 60×80 cm Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work we can observe a shaman transforming his head into the head of a bird. The secret of this practice is that the teacher learns to think like the animal and to share his instincts. Intelligence and education allow human beings to achieve greater perfection and learn more from their experiences. To communicate with an animal and attract its spirit, a shaman must sing its icarus and experience the animal’s hypnotism, concentration, and instinct. Also in the central part of the work there is an Inca, a prince or Ayar who teaches about the spiritual conception and development of children, which requires justice, discipline, love and wisdom. This Ayar wears an elegant suit, signifying his nobility and majestic authority. Ayahuasca leaves, seen in the lower left, are rubbed under the armpits of children so that they grow into decent, trustworthy and conscientious adults. On the vine of the ayahuasca vine, the saber-toothed jaguar is seen, attacking the enemy sorcery with its long teeth. Finally at the top we can see two Wayramamas and in the center is the divine muse, or kunan versucum, here represented by the resplendent colors. Each color inspires a different faculty that allows us to live in harmony with the natural world. The yellow color represents intelligence; green, life force and aura; orange represents knowledge; blue, wisdom and spiritual insight; understanding; and violet, spirituality.

These spiritual beings maintain the tree that we can see on the right side and above it a staircase that leads us to a pure and immaculate magic palace. The “A’tun Runa” live according to the heavenly laws and understand the imperfections of humans. Everything in the universe has a vibration composed of pure spiritual energy; it is the music of creation. On the upper left side we can see the sublime master called “Anciano Arconte” and below him we can see the “Wayra Mama ”, when the wave of ayahuasca that emanates from the Wayra Mama’s mouth reaches you, she teaches you different types of icaros, which you can then sing to receive wisdom from the spirits directly. Some waves bring knowledge; others bring healing abilities or the power to reject sorcery. Among the spirals of the ayahuasca waves, four sylphs with golden hair are seen sitting among the flowers in the central part; they are symbols of purity, intelligence and wisdom. They carry scrolls of papyrus containing the sublime teachings of aromatic flowers. Shamans learn about flower icars and how to make aromatic medicines and balsamic salves from nectar.
The Pearl of the Peruvian Jungle 1.50×2.50 meters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this Peruvian Amazonian waterfall, every morning at dawn, the macaws, parrots and other species of birds carry out their fluttering ceremony before starting the colpeo, which consists of ingesting clay from the colpa and after 25 to 30 minutes they will leave withdrawing, to return the next day. The precise reason for this spectacular behavior, and one of nature’s most fascinating shows, is because this clay contains vital salts and minerals that are used in the birds’ diet and serve to detoxify the birds’ fruit diet.
Arcanas of the Sumiruna 80×60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work of art, the profound revelation that ayahuasca gives to heal the damage caused by sorcerers and witches is shown. The golden spiral that we see in this visionary work symbolizes the eternal movement of spirit and matter within solar systems and galaxies. Just to the left is a sumiruna level master who is icarando (singing magical songs) to heal his patient from harm. To the extreme right and left we can see three faces of women with crowns of different colors, these crowns show the level of knowledge that each one has. They also represent the nurturing love of Mother Earth, and a mother’s love for her children. The fuchsia palace in the lower right is where the shamans learn to heal. Ayahuasca reveals its deepest secrets when visionary dizziness is at its strongest. Here he shows that human beings need to create a balance between their good and bad sides. The steps lead to the underwater kingdom where mermaids, sirens, pucabufeos and the yacuruna reside. In the lower central part of the work is the huarmi muraya, which is like a mermaid, dressed in the scale armor of the celestial fish that teaches the shamans the art of alchemical healing. Birds are messengers from heavenly temples and palaces. The macaw, the green and purple hummingbirds, the eagle. All these birds have a lot of esoteric wisdom; they warn of danger, reveal secrets and teach the sublime wisdom of love.
Moon Night 80 x 60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
The full moon occurs when our planet is positioned exactly between the Sun and the Moon. The Moon, as such, does not have its own light, so it reflects the light of the Sun. That is why, during the full moon, what we see is the Moon with its visible face fully illuminated by sunlight. Human beings have always felt the influence of the moon and seek help and benefits from it. For some people, the Full Moon is the right time to make decisions, to define a point of view or an option. It is a time of expansion and high energy power. During the nights of the Full Moon, spiritual people and metaphysicians punctually carry out mindfulness exercises, relaxation exercises and guided meditations. If there is a bird that has had an important meaning throughout history, it has been the owl. This nocturnal animal is full of mystery and wisdom. Owls have a large head with two large piercing eyes, they have great vision and keen hearing.

The aguaje is a dioecious plant, that is, it has male and female trees, which produce the fruits. From the cut trunk, “suri” is obtained, the larva of a beetle (Rynchophorus palmarum) which is an important food in rural areas. The beetle lays its eggs in the pulp of the trunk and there the larvae develop, which are white and fat worms, and which are generally eaten fried and have a pleasant taste.
Medical Vapor 80 x 60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work of art we see a large jar, it is called mahuete, where inside it there are three students who are learning to be master healers, these are called onayas. Inside this jar they learn the magical songs – icaros since many songs are filed and stored inside this jar. As with all sound, the things we say do not fade away, but are immediately transmitted elsewhere. To the left of the work are the huarmi murayas who, like sirens, have golden hair. They are tending pink and white flowers for use in alchemical healing. Guarding the entrance to the underwater kingdom are the red bufeo and the mermaids, the underwater guides of the onayas. Behind them is a magnificent city protected by sirens with magical nets that prevent the passage of spells. In the upper left part grows toé with its pink flower, sometimes added to ayahuasca to intensify visions. A piece of flower mixed with your ayahuasca brew can allow you to see a person clearly.
Divine Protectors 80×60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work of art we can see on the far right the ayahuasca vine and on the far left the chacruna plant, these are boiled together to make the mystical ayahuasca brew. The angels that we see in the central part of the work transmit spiritual energy to the plants so that the shaman masters can see the angelic powers in action in their visions. The colors of the angels have a meaning: green represents the beginning of life, blue represents enthusiasm and energetic strength, and the yellow of the east represents the freshness and joy of the morning, the fuchsia color represents the satisfaction of a productive day. At both lower ends we see two female Shipibo shaman teachers. They have the degree of sumirunas, and they know the icaros to heal all kinds of damage according to the colors that the angels have and were taught, for example the green color to heal a patient who suffers mortal damage. After healing, the blue icaro is sung to gain strength, the fuchsia icaro prevents boredom and inactivity, and the yellow icaro will make a person happy. In the upper central part of the work, we see an alien spaceship that visits Earth frequently. They come from parallel universes and are approached by the Sumirunas to understand the mysterious forces of electromagnetism and gravity that sustain the cosmos.
New Life 80×60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
This painting explores the mystical beginning of life, which can be accessed by drinking ayahuasca. The eyes that we see at the top are from the Supreme Being, they emit dynamic energy that surrounds the pregnant woman. The dynamic energy that is surrounding the pregnant woman is the spark of life and the origins of the blood are entering the pregnant mother like waves while she sleeps. They penetrate the womb, giving the child emotions and characteristics, just as electromagnetic waves produce an image on a television screen. It is what you are given to deal with all the problems of life. The yellow energy that surrounds the fetus, are the first particles of matter that were formed by tingunas (electromagnetic patterns). Butterfly wings refer us to the spiritual world, to the imagination, to intelligence, the possibility of movement and, therefore, the capacity for spiritual and physical advancement. Butterflies have represented the unconscious attraction to light, beauty, what is most characteristic of life and the soul. Finally we see the pregnant woman, who is sitting on the lotus flower and is related to the perfection of the spirit and mind, a state of total purity and immaculate nature. She is represented by 10 petals that reveal the innocence and original nature of the heart. This flower also represents qualities that are transmitted to the child from her womb such as love, passion and compassion.
Archons 80 x 60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work of art we see that two colors predominate, pink and blue. The pink color in the center of the image represents the earth realm, while the blue color represents the sky and the heavenly realms. The women we see in this visionary work symbolize and uphold the quintessence of beauty, while the men must develop wisdom to serve beauty. On the lower right side, we see the healer woman teacher who, while she smokes her pipe, transmits her spiritual purity and impeccability. With the smoke of her pipe archons come out, sublime masters who perform wonderful cures, or in Quechua, “the wise men with white hair”. On the left are the sovereign sages known as a’tun mauca runa, “the great ancients” who are the bearers of harmony. They watch over the women who ascend to the heavenly temples to worship. On the right side we can see that the women have a floral crown to symbolize the wisdom that they receive in the heavenly palace. The precious stones of her crown represent the philosopher’s stone, her spiritual alchemy. Women are able to sense danger much earlier than men. This is suggested in the upper right hand side of the painting where the ayahuasca vine touches his temples and crown. A woman earns the right to wear this crown when she truly fulfills her earthly and divine role as woman, mother and companion. It is through her that man receives the crown from him.
Wise Woman 80x60cm Acrylic on canvas 2020
In the Amazon there are several types of ayahuasca, these vines go to the infinity of the universe, winding many colors, including green, known as Campana Ayahuasca, a color that shines in this visionary work of art. In the center of the work you can see the wise Shipiba woman with healing abilities. She has learned to heal thanks to the spirits that are called, “Sacha – Huarmi”, which means “Wild Woman”; that is why plants and flowers are found together with it as the “toe”, and the flower of the dale lotus. The flower of the “Toe” represents the strength that the floripondio plant has, full of electromagnetism that the shaman uses as a defense, it is also used for pernicious, contagious diseases and to give relief to the blood. Above the wise woman we see the arkana owl, the shaman healer teacher uses them as protection to defend herself from her spiritual enemies who come to attack him from below the earth. We also observe in the upper left part of the work, a tiger with a spiritual name, “Puyo – Puma”, which means “Cloud Tiger”, one of its qualities is that of being aware of the movement of the earth and that leaves inactive any enemy. He is very fearless in his attacks but he is very cautious, these tigers go through the session or ceremony and give the shaman a lot of power of healing vibrations and powers to defend himself from the evil of any sorcerer who comes against him and his disciples. The snakes that are seen in the lower part of the work are spiritually present in the ayahuasca ceremony or ritual to help to have a better vision and meditation. “To contemplate the world of spirits is to see another latent world.”
Palace of Master Muraya (Sublime Third Shaman Level) 1.50m x 1.50m Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work of art, at the bottom center we can see three Muraya masters. Master Muraya has dominion over the land and in the water, the Muraya is a shaman with a more sublime form or, as they say, more educated and is more educated for great spirituality. They are great shamanic masters and men of esoteric knowledge who can transform your physical body into pure spirit. They wear a mantle of fire. To earn this honor you must follow a diet to learn from sublime masters and gain spiritual allies: jaguars, red dolphins, and the eel-mama (mother of which is a wild and mystical lake), where few people dare to venture). Manta payariri sings, a reserved icarus. He says “Manni, ninangu-nacaya”, which means “Mantle of fire, strong as my medicine”. He calls out the yana puyurunas (black cloud beings), whose faces appear in the sky above him. They teach how to heal using wind, mist, and spray. They can cure illnesses derived from love problems or separation, and also legal problems. The magnificent sylphs (sublime air spirits) around the full moon, whose electromagnetic auras sustain life; dominate the air, the storm and the wind. Beneath them are the gnomes who guard the precious emeralds, rubies, and diamonds buried there. When the Muraya sets out on its journey, these gnomes emerge from the earth bearing precious stones. On the right, we can see the Wayramama and the elemental forces emerging from the depths of space. These forces are symbolized by the formation of a pentagonal rainbow prism. The rainbow and the pentagram that comes out of the Wayramama’s mouth preserve and protect life. The spirits show that animals, plants, and humans have a plan to build their own physical forms: DNA molecules embedded in the nucleus of every cell.
Cosmic energy 80×60 centimeters Acrylic on canvas 2021
In this visionary work of art we can see the faces of women, they are elemental beings, they are divas, connoisseurs of floral perfumes, aromatic essences, incense and ointments to heal and purify. In the lower right part of the work are the red and black seeds of the huayruro tree (Ormosia amazónica). The brightly colored huayruro seeds are widely used in Amazonian jewelry and crafts; they protect travelers and attract good fortune. We can also see the green snake called “llullo machaco” that symbolizes purity and its green color is like the virgin forest, uncultivated and uncontaminated. The fuchsia-colored cosmic energy that emanates at the top of the work represents purposeful activity and teaches us to be helpful and warm to others. While the green and red cosmic energy shown in this work shows the spiritual energy that the Arakans emanate. And the cosmic energy of blue colors that this work of art also emanates symbolizes the abundance and nurturing of the earth.
